Spiro began his career as a management consultant  before entering into the financial services industry as an executive. He spent more than 10 years consulting across multiple industries, developing and implementing strategies with teams in several countries.

Spiro has worked for Bank of Athens Limited/Grobank Limited – South Africa as Chief Executive Officer and Executive Director of the Board (April 2010 – June 2019). He also served as Sales Director Personal and Business Banking, as Managing Director Vehicle & Asset Finance (Stannic) and Director Business Banking at Standard Bank -South Africa (February 2003 – March 2010).

Spiro has more than 15 years’ experience in leading organizations and driving top-notch revenue gains within highly competitive markets. He holds a Master of Science in Industrial Administration and Master of Business Administration (MSIA/MBA) from Carnegie Mellon University – Pittsburgh, USA. He also has a Bachelor of Commerce Honours from University of the Witwatersrand– Johannesburg, South Africa.
